About us

We are the premier youth and junior triathlon team in Katy, Tx and the west Houston high school composite triathlon team.  We aim to provide the best quality of instruction and coaching for our athletes of all levels.  Developing lifelong, well-rounded athletes is a top priority.  The Fury Tri Team started officially in 2013 as the Fit and Fun Fury and has evolved over the past several seasons into a multi-level, official USAT club team.  We have athletes just learning to swim and ride their bike without training wheels up to athletes racing in Youth and Junior Elite competition and ranking in the top 5 at Nationals.   We offer team training options 11 months a year as well as an adult club and private training sessions.   We also focus on athletes' development through our additional certifications and education to work with youth and junior athletes.  Our goal is coaching them in developmentally appropriate ways to properly progress them into healthy young adults, as well as allowing them to work to reach their goals.

Coach Meagan, Elite Head Coach and Program Director

Meagan Davis has a love and passion for working with kids, helping them get/stay active, and finding fun ways for them to do so.  With 20 years of fitness, nutrition, and multisport background, she brings knowledge and fun together to help our athletes excel in the sport and develop skills they can use for life.  Coach Meagan enjoys working with our youngest athletes and trying to find ways to make it fun and exciting, as well as challenging our highest level of athletes to work towards their goals.  As a former college soccer player, she understands how important it is to set goals and work hard to achieve them, but also keep it fun and stay healthy in order to maintain the passion for sport as well as the ability to train and compete.  Coach Meagan's credentials:

Coach Karen,  Coach

Karen Moser moved to Texas 10 years ago from California,  where was an elementary school teacher.  She has spent the last few years working at a preschool as the creative movement teacher.  As a child she started playing soccer and then swam and dove in high school and junior college.

In 2015 a friend asked her to do a triathlon, she agreed as she had done some as a teenager.  She was hooked and made the switch from soccer to triathlons.  She has since done numerous races from sprint distance to recently completing her 2nd Ironman.  She has competed in Nationals and in 2018 went to Denmark on Team USA and competed in Aquabike.  Her two daughters have followed in her footsteps and are part of Fury Team.

Coach Trey, Coach

Trey Stone comes to us with many years of experience in coaching youth and juniors, as well as having been a triathlete since the '90s. He ha 6 Ironman finishes, 12 marathon finishes, and countless olympic and sprint distance races completed.  He can often be found in transition as the coordinator of local races.

He has a passion for coaching kids, and enjoys working with kids of all ages.  He especially finds importance in teaching the basics to young athletes.  He has a teenage daughter who began triathlon at 6, so he understands the progression througout their youth Tri journey.

Coach Robin, Fitness Coach

Robin Davis is a certified Fitness Trainer who has been coaching youth sports for nearly a decade, and trained firefighters to be physically ready for anything prior to that.  He played a multitude of sports growing up, and his years as a H.S. track star and collegiate cycling club athlete have brought a lot to our cycling and running practices.  Between his athletic experience, coaching skills, and professional experience as a former EMT and current emergency manager, he is a major asset to the team.  Coach Robin completed his first Ironman in 2016, and second in 2018 and enjoys racing all distances.

Swim Coaching

We are also VERY lucky to have partnered with Texas Swim Academy to offer top-notch swim training in an indoor climate-controlled pool, year round.  Texas Swim Academy has the very best swim coaches around!  For our athletes who are not quite ready for our hour-long team practices, they offer lessons that will get them ready.

Junior Coaches

We also utilize some of our more experienced and older athletes as "junior coaches" under the guidance of our certified coaches.  They happily help younger and less experienced athletes to learn the sport and build their skills.  This promotes team building, allows the older kids to work on leadership skills while giving back to the sport, and motivates and inspires younger athletes.  Please contact Coach Meagan if you are interested in helping as a Junior Coach.
